Community & Economic Development

Bringing hope to communities

-----------------

Luke 4:18-19

18 "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me because he has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor;

he has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind,

to set at liberty those that are broken, 19 to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord"

Building relationships

 Relationship building is key to community development.

   Broken relationships cause poverty which prevent access to education, resources, equal-rights, and above all, social relationships that can aid them in need.

    Forming a relationship with God through the power of the gospel of Jesus Christ breaks the yoke of poverty. When people grow in a God-centered relationship and form genuine relationships with individuals and communites, they can gradually dismantle the poverty cycle and experience productive and flourishing lives.

   They can walk in liberty!

Meeting needs

We pray with communities to assist them with both natural and spiritural needs. We help them identify problems, find manageable solutions and mobilize outside resources as a supplement to solutions. Above all, we seek opportunities to share the life-changing gospel of Jesus Christ. His truth and power bring hope and healing to the nations.

Gloria Sutherland Children's Fund

Who was Gloria Sutherland?

    Gloria gave her life to the Lord Jesus Christ at 6yrs old. She loved Him with all her heart and lived for Him and His kingdom until she was called home in September, 2021.

    When she was sixteen (16), she noticed that many children didn't go to Sunday School to hear about the wonderful Lord Jesus Christ. She wondered how she could get them to know about Him? That's when she started a children's ministry in her back yard. And because it was on Thursdays, she called it Thursday Class. Gloria loved to sing about the joy of the Lord. So there were lots of singing, having fun, praying and Bible lessons on Jesus' love. Many children also believed on the Lord Jesus and are serving Him today.

What is the Fund About?

    This fund enables us to carry on Gloria's legacy of getting the Gospel to children. It provides food, and other needs which may be a barrier to children's learning about the Lord who loves them and died for them. Most importantly, it gets the Gospel to these young and impressionable hearts (Eccl 12:1).
